 EV> I turned the Vista box on and right clicked on the Padlock in the Start

	OK, right. Now just hover the mouse over the |> and see what you get. Here, I
do not have the Lock displayed but if I hover the mouse over the arrow, I see
six options, amongst them : Change Users,shutdown, sleep, lock, log off,
hibernate and Restart. At first, I could not see Hibernate but going into H&S,
it was mentioned that I could only see this if I had Hybrid Sleep defeated. It
pasy to RTFM a little.

	You should also get the rest of them as I do.

	Notebook or desktop ought to be the same.

	If you dissable Auto Start in Panel, they will never get active.  Then you can
format the device and if there was a bugger on it, it will be gone and safe to
use.
