They still do carry a heavy price.  About the least expensive of the lot is
QuickVerse (of which I have a copy) but it's not near as good as Logos.  The
platinum version of Logos is over $1000 at retail price. You can get it
discounted direct from Logos through their download service for around 20% off
that.  Most of what's in that set is for the serious seminary student studying
for a doctorate in theology.  Not something you and I would find useful. :)

The Authorized Version known as the KJV is the only Bible translation that is
in the public domain.  And that's the reason why the more modern translations
in general are expensive.  You pay for copyright and name brand.

We have an account with Lifeway and Family Christian Stores but rarely buy from
them because of their mark ups.  About the only thing I buy there is Sunday
Bulletin blanks and communion sets.
