Format one system, reinstall Win98SE, add all updates, reinstall and customize
all the software that we actually use (there's a lot of it!), customize
wallpaper, screen saver, desktop, Start Menu.

Ghost to a second system across the network; set the unique computer name,
login name, static IP address. Ghost to third and forth systems. Continue until
done.

(Actually, it's somewhat more complex since we have five or six different
hardware configurations-- so after Ghosting to a different hardware
configuration, then it takes a little time for Windows to find the new
components, or to manually add sound or video drivers as needed).

Nope-- they've abandoned this product (XGames Pro Boarder). It won't run under
Win2000/XP, and I emailed their tech support who admitted that I was on my own.

 Yes... we have Tux Racer installed... it's a bit slow on our systems, and
there is some interesting, almost pychedelic colour effects on the systems with
ATI Rage IIc video cards, and it lacks the network support which is the biggest
attraction of the Pro Boarder demo-- kids can race against one another around
the room.

While my school systems are primarily for educational use, I'm a big fan of
encouraging (non-violent) non-educational use at selected times.... I'm open
for gaming or web-surfing for a half hour every day after school... it keeps
the bright would-be hacker kids on-side; it's in their interest to keep my
systems up and running rather than trying to find ways to bring them down.
