The Bill was specificly written to TAX out of State web sites using a in
state referals. Anazon as an example paid a comission for referals form
those in state web sites that resulted in a sale. Taxing Internet sales
form vendors that have NO in state connections is illegal accroding to a
Supreme Court decision made in 1992.
Amazon has sent Termination notices to 25,000 referal web sites located
within the state of California thus the Bill will not apply to their
sales within Califronia.
OF course the Feds are working on a National Sales Tax on Intertnet
sales. There is a lot of Opposition to that but I expect they wil
finally Prevail.
OF course you an I can use the Military ecxchanges but I only do it for
larger ticket items as to me they are somewhat inconvient.
And speaking of military bases dod you se where they are eliminating
Base Stickers starting in October this year. I found out when I got the
Base sticker for the wifes replacement car for her ond one that we were
trying for 300,000 but she chickened out, Because she is stil commuting
ot owrk 25 miles each way 5 days per week, at 292,000.
When we got the base pass it is only good untill October 2011. They are
coming out with some computerized system that I have no details on as
yet.
But I suspect it may be related to the Police License plate reader they
use. The San Diego police department have a couple. Tere is a camera on
the police car and a data link to the ploice computer. the camera sends
a picture of the plate and it and it is checked by the computer for
Wants and Warrants.

Tne reasonong behind dropimng Base stickers is thav they make the
Military Targets for Terrorists,
