	Not my experience at all, I am still running W-7 on most of my machines, those
that can run it. But, my first action when receiving the machines was to get
rid of all the bloatware that manufacturers feel that they need to provide.

	Norton is the first to have been flushed. Your getting rid of it is well
documented in most Win-forum, it is only used by "unknowing" users, in my
opinion. Slows all to a crawl.

	I see the same behaviour here, users accepting a Wormy in the same way as PC
users do. As far as backward compatibility is concerned, I am running, on W-7,
most of all my apps from W-98, I have added Office 2k in its entirety, runs
fine. The only programme that gives me some small reluctance when loading, is
PaintShopPro 6, it says that the Registry was not set but it runs after two
"OK" and I can use it as designed. Acrobat 5 is at times refusing to display a
.pdf. But it seems to me that this is due to the new format, not an interaction
between it and W-7 as it runs on most of the .pdfs.

	Your complain about no backward compatibility on a Wormy does not faze all the
Wormy users around here, they are happy to acquire the new stuff as King SJ has
mandated.

	What I can run on W-7, has kept me off Ubuntu. I did run a version, then
current, of it for ñ a year. It was a nice OS even though it would not
recognize all my homebrewed hardware, people on the forums would instruct me on
how to fix it but I will quote you here :

	Paul, we are all different minds and acheive our aims in also different ways.
I have a daughter who coded for MS for a few years and she is still my helper
so, I am biased in my opinions. Sorry for jumping in.

	I have yet to try Andro‹d ! Still salivating on that Thrive.
