That is because the Ham Commnuity is now filled with Brain Dead "NO
CODE" types like me.

but mentioning that rouought bac ksoem of me memories of the very late
30's and 40's. My fatherwas bnot a Ham untuim namany years later but he
was taught CW when he joined the Marine corps in the late 20's and put
in theri Signasl corps. After fetting out he got a job with the Light
House Service transmitting weather traffic to cross country airplanes
using the old CAA(Now FAA) radio range stations. They consisted of Two
Radio towers and Transmitters synchorized. One tower transmitting a CW
A and the other the CW  N  When the Airplane was on the path between
Radio Range stations they heard a steadty tone. If they wandered off
left or right they heard either the CW  A  or  N

Later he became an Air Traffic Controller and we moved every year for a
while as he opened up New state of the Art control towers as major air
ports.
As we traveled the country as we passed ont ot those range stations,
Which were mostly alongside major highways, he would tap out Hi on the
Car horn also.
