Alan,

I put the MS Convertor file for WORD on the W-3.1 box yesterday.

I typed a small document with the Settings my Friend was wanting to use
with DOUBLE-SPACE that I mentioned to Jean in the message before
this one.

When I opened the file in Notepad and Wordpad, I saw a lot of Block
characters.

The Works Word Processor wouldn't/couldn't open it.

I tried Open Office 3.1.
Lately I have been having a problem with OO but after about 3 tries it
appeared just as I had typed it in using MS WORD on the W-3.1 box.

The day before I didn't think of trying to use OO to look at the file I
made before I added the MS Convertor Update.

I looked at my .DOC file's coding with LIST.COM and saw the Template
still had the Hard Drive settings from the W-3.1 box even though it had
been saved to a floppy disk and put on the XP box.

The Template settings were shown for the D:\ drive on the W-3.1 box,
This XP box has a 8 GB Recovery Partition which only has 455 MB's
of space left on it.

I looked at the D:\ drive but the Directory hadn't been made that the
Template data said the data was at.   Dumb WP.   ;-)

Also in the file was the B:\filename.doc setting where I had Saved As to
the B:\ floppy drive, but the floppy drive on the XP box is A:\. Ditto.

I haven't tried viewing a file from the XP box to the W-3.1 box yet.

I hope to get to that ROUNDTUIT soon since I finally LEARNED how to use
the Linksys Router Update Wizard to correct the problem I made the other
day when I messed up the settings on the DSL Modem.

After all was done with the Wizard, nothing was done.

I didn't get the Version 2.x update and neither did I get the Log Viewer
software placed on my XP box.

I'll leave Cisco a comment to see what I need to do to get the Log
Viewer file the Users Guide says I could get from the web site.
