	Good day, Alan.

	Well, I broke down. I got W-8 running on this old P4 Asus and it does quite
nice. I was amazed at the facility that was offered me to use it just as easy
as W-7. At first, I could not get but the arrow keys working, then I had a
stroke of genius and moved the mouse from the MoBo USB port to one on the 5
port PCI USB card and gained control of the rodent. From this point on, it was
a very rewarding experience. This OS on this old P4 is as nibble as W-7 on my
Intel duo-core Acer, if not better, I will look into now loading it onto that
Acer.

	What amazed me most is that W-8 recognized and ran some old apps, the first
one that I tried was Acrobat 5, nary an hesitation. I then tried PSPro-6 and it
also ran after two space bar clicks as it again, as in W-7, said that the
Registry was not updated, but it ran, go search ! Needless to say that Office
2000 is a winner too, no hesitation at all.

	I can see that it is destined for another than a 4:3 screen, the little fish
is squeezed side to side. The rest of the apps are not adversely affected.

	My Acer is now running on an IDE HD as the SATA 250 G died on me. I should be
getting an eBay replacement in the next few days and will first load W-8 on it
as the HD will be virgin. It is definitely slower on the IDE.
