  >.Hello, Ed.
Howdy! Jean and Everyone,

JP> EV> I just looked at www.askwoody.com about someone sneezing on a W8
  > EV> TouchPad and finding out why when he used a One Finger touch command
  > EV> that W8 responded as if it was a Two Finger touch command.

JP>.Ouach ! ouach !

JP>.Ed, not nice. This is one more reason why I hate touch-pads.

Looks like We Belong to the SAME CHURCH!

When I saw that persons comments on AskWoody I instantly thought of You.

You may not had started with a DOS OS when you went from the C=128 to
the IBM Compatiable computer, but at least You had already learned how
to Cut, Copy and Paste using the 128's Keyboard and could use it already
on the Windows box.

I was using a C=64 when I learned DOS 2.11 on a computer while I was at
work, because the Boss "sent the Manuals" with His "Outdated" 8088 XT
computer (made by ITT) with a 10MB Hard Drive that he had been using up
till he got a new Zenith 286 AT that had a 20 MB Hard Drive in it.

Later on we got the Zenith "Hand Me Down" after He got a Dell 386.

My preference between the ITT and the Zenith was the ITT that had been
put in storage, My reasoning is because I thought the 12Mc/s Zenith was
much slower than the 4.77Mc/s ITT we had been using, And That Really
Surprized Me since we were still using it to do the very same job, which
was Sending our readings each morning and afternoon of the River Level
and other related data by dial-up modem, and a bit after our data was
sent, we would Get a report, by dial-up, that had the river
levels (etc.) from all stations Upriver and Downriver, The same data was
being processed but it seemed to me that the Zenith was a Dog compared
to the ITT when it was assembling our data to be uploaded to the Server.

I still wish I had those Manuals that came with the ITT-PC because one
of the books in the set of Manuals, explained how to MAKE a Driver
(program) BIT BY BIT, BYTE BY BYTE.
I know that now a days if I was still interested I could learn how by
using a Search Engine to find a web site with that information, but I've
haven't thought to do that. Yet!

The other day I told someone about the Edit - Undo procedure to use when
a mistake is made while using a computer.

I believe it was Tom Walker and maybe others who told me that I could
have used that command after I posted my message a long time ago about
my accidently touching a mouse button while I was in Windows Explorer
and seeing the Directory/Folder for "ALL" the Saved Messages that have
Info that I Learned About From the PEOPLE HERE just "Disappeared"
because I twitched when moving the mouse that night.
The next morning I did a search from the CMD C:\ Prompt for one of the
name of some files I kept in that Directory (WINXT???.TXT) and found it
got STUFFED in the next Directory/Folder just below where I keep "MY
Important Stuff".

Edit - Undo or CTRL z sure makes things easier for Ed Lots Of Times!

Thanks everyone for sharing what You Know.
I try in turn to share what I've learn with others to make their live a
bit easier on these BLASTED THINGS!

This is one of my Hobbys and I'm sure glad I don't have to Work full
time as )\/(ark has to do, but I'm "Very Glad" that He and Lots Of
Others do what They Do and Share Their Experiences with the likes of Me
and You. THANKS FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Lately I've been telling folks how to use CTRL+ to enlarge what is on
the screen when they are browsing the internet so they can read the
small text that a lot of web pages have in them.

Just the other day I even told some one about back in the late 1990's my
telling a co-worker who I saw playing Windows Solitaire was Dragging
Cards up to the Card Stacks at the top of the screen "Just Double-Click
on the Card and it will go up to the Stack", the co-worker asked me
"How did You learn to do that?" and I told the person I used the Help
option that is on the upper part of the screen, just left of the word
File to learn that trick, and that there is a lot of things a person can
learn by reading the Help section of any program they use.

BTW I still haven't found a Keyboard Shortcut to be able to move those
cards up to the Top Stack, yet! <GRIN>

Yes, I'm still here and I Ain't Changed A BIT, I've just haven't had the
time to get back in the groove and be up to date on much of anything.

Watch Out For Those Sneezes if You get that Android thingy!, They Don't
Like Sneezes. So Stay Healthy. AND That Goes For ALL OF YOU Reading
My Ramblings Today TOO!
