I presume that you have run MEMMAKER from the DOS command line -- NOT from
a windows box?

IF you have the DOS supplemental disk installed on your 98 box, you should
be able to type HELP (from the DOS command line) and then you can seek out
the reference source for the devices (or any device, for that matter).

If you don't have the supplemental disk, let me know and I will provide you
with a URL where it can be obtained.

When I ran MEMMAKER on my 98 box, it searched for Windows and optimized my
Config.sys, Autoexec.bat and one of the Windows INI files (I can't remember
which one; either WIN.INI or SYSTEM.INI).  I may be incorrect, but my
presumption is that the optimized Autoexec.bat and Config.sys files are for
operations from the DOS command line.  The optimized Windows INI file is
for operations in Windows (and I believe that includes any DOS boxes you
might have open).
