Actually, despite all it's logical shortfalls and only vague references 
to the source material, I rather liked Starship Troopers.  *shrug*

One thing I liked about the cartoon that I didn't think about until now 
was the choice of armor for the infantry (ie: not the Marauders).  In a 
hostile environment (ie: They can't breath the air or else they'll die), 
they wear the armored space suits, which are implied to be somewhat 
clumsy for someone not used to it (of course, Paperboy is pretty damned 
clumsy in general).

On an environment they can operate in without artificial assistance, 
they wear lighter armor that gives them less protection but more freedom 
of movement, and freaking jet packs.  I think the jetpacks counter any 
relative lack of protection from giant alien bugs, if you ask me. 
Exo-Squad taught me that guys with jetpacks and limpet mines are cooler 
than guys in heavily armed powered-armor suits anyday.

They also get really pointy cattle prods, which I guess lets them melee 
without actually having to stick their arm close enough to a bad guy to 
get it bitten off.  *shrug*
