..but if somoene over-represents Sanjaya's ability, they are at the least
stretching the truth, at the worst, lying.

Context. Al is talking about convincing people who are proving difficult.

"over-representation of factual presentations" Over-representation of the
facts.

"Too much" connotes multiple ways. One of them being inflated claims.

I choose to take it that way. You don't.

Over-representation can still refer to the factual presentations in the
sense of attempting to make them more intense or emotionally compelling.

I'm sorry. Global warming is not *conservative* propaganda. Liberal
propaganda, sure...

I can't speak for anybody else but Al Gore frightens me about as much as a
storebought kid's haloween costume.

Given the nature of your last paragraph and the personal attacks you make on
those you disagree with, I'll take the last word and call it here. No
replies will be made to you or anyone else.

Pity. Your defense of Gore was very good. While I'm good at english, you
are indeed better.

Q: There's a lot of debate right now over the best way to communicate about
global warming and get people motivated. Do you scare people or give them
hope? What's the right mix?

Gore: I think the answer to that depends on where your audience's head is.
In the United States of America, unfortunately we still live in a bubble of
unreality. And the Category 5 denial is an enormous obstacle to any
discussion of solutions. Nobody is interested in solutions if they don't
think there's a problem. Given that starting point, I believe it is
appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how
dangerous it is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to
what the solutions are, and how hopeful it is that we are going to solve
this crisis.
