I hear you brother, Bush has given the space program more of a shot in
the arm that any other Republican. Republicans in the past just look at
the space program as something to be cut where Bush has given it more
money. And the Space program has direction again. That said I'm
really not all that hot on Orion.

First Lockheed-Martin is the company that wasted a billion dollars
trying to make the last Next Space shuttle known as the X-33. So we
give them 8 and 1/2 times that much money. That doesn't make sense to
me even if its just Apollo +.
My feeling was that better to let The Boeing Co and Northrop Grumman
have the contract you would be far more likely to get a return on your
money.

It also bother me the Rush to get rid of space shuttles. Shuttles that
are left are in good shape, Endeavour hasn't even be sent up yet since
the return to flight as it in much better shape that the two remanding
shuttles. Also once the Shuttles are gone the amount of Cargo we can
put into space at any given time will be much much less.

I know Orion is just a first step to mars but I just hope that first
step isn't a fall.
