When I heard that Julie Caitlin Brown was no longer working with Mongoose and 
that she'd bailed out of writing her book, I wondered if this very thing had 
crossed her mind: that she would rather leave the door open for working with 
JMS again rather than get whatever meagre royalties she might out of a 
smallish book deal with a small publisher not heretofore known for novels 
anyway.  She and Marshall Teague are the only Narns of note left, after all.

Yeah, to me, this really seems like shooting yourself in the foot.

Also a good point.  Hanging around this newsgroup, I forget sometimes that 
there are people walking around out there considerably less well informed 
about the B5 universe than we are here.  The B5 community on LiveJournal is a 
great reality check in that regard.  Recently, I've read posts there where 
someone has only now discovered John Hudgens' memorial film for Rick Biggs -- 
which is more than two years old, and which most of us saw the week he 
released it -- and someone else posted the other day that they just noticed 
Ed Wasser as a C&C tech in "The Gathering."  So, someone who isn't availing 
themselves of the information here might not know that Mongoose has run very 
far afoul of JMS's good graces, and think that Claudia's participation in the 
project -- and not just writing any old novel, but one about Ivanova -- 
implies some kind of official endorsement.

Well, maybe not _killed_, but she's sure closed a lot of doors.
