Wow, you didn't understand my comment at all.  If you plan to tell the
story in 5 seasons, you have to know how long your story is, how much
fits into a single epi, and then divide. If you don't come up with 5
years of epis, you have to rewrite.

You can lay out an episode with a single topic sentence - you can just
about tell the story with each episode's "topic" sentence.

How about, "Shadows kill Kosh" for an episode?  Here's another one,
"Sheridan goes to Za-Ha-Dum and drops nuke on their biggest city,
Dies, Is resurrected by a First One".

Also, you can graphically organize your story threads over
episodes/seasons.

Once you have your story, you can lay out your epis in hours, days at
the most.

PS.  I don't watch B5 anymore.  When it was on and in reruns, I was
fully addicted.  I got people to write letters to the programming
manager of the station that carried it.  I called people on the phone
when its future was uncertain.

I still think B5 was the greatest sci-fi undertaking to that date.
This includes all the Asimov, Dune, StarWars, etc....   Tolkein even -
and that is very hard for me to say.  In fact, I look at B5 as being
somewhat Tolkeinesque.

Anyone who has watched B5 from a dispassionate distance instantly sees
the discontinuity produced by the 5th season uncertainty.

I think it is reasonable for the people who really loved this series to
want to know just how good it could have been.
