Hmmm, Im not supprised. As I think I said in a previous post, these episodes 
only reveal thier true impact when see at the end of the season build up. B5 
just doesnt work as a dip in thing like star trek and stargate. These are 
light weight, take it or leave it shows, that require no commitmnet from the 
viewer. B5 asks more of us.

The only people I have managed to convert to B5 have started at the 
beginning and have had the patience to watch it through to the exciting pay 
off stuff.

The thing about B5 is that ultimately its about the characters and thier 
stories, and development over time.  Its not about space, its not about 
aliens; infact, I'd say it has nothing to do with SciFi at all, except, 
thats there JMS chose to set it. Really it could be set any where, in any 
time. Thats its genius. The scifi stuff is just window dressing.

Because one gets in to the characters and thier issues, you dont notice how 
awfull some of the show is. For the casual viewer , dipping in, the flaws 
are obvious. But for those of us who are 'in' to the plot and characters, 
the shows flaws sort of disappear, because in the end they are irrelivent to 
the actual story.

So you have to start at the beginning, get in to the characters and be 
patient. Otherwise, B5 just doesnt work.
