When they were still at home, those were probably the #2 cookie our
girls loved to bake.  Of course #1 was the good old chocolate chip. (G)
The chewy gingersnap type got the name of "Mother Hubbard" in my family;
I've no idea why but have sen the same thing recipe but called
gingersnaps.

I've got a BK salad I'll have later; there was enough "greenery" on the

Bummer!  Things will improve but they do take time.  Several years ago,
my doctor did a total cholesterol panel for me & found my triglycerides
were sky high, despite an over all healthy diet (brown rice, whole
wheat bread, pastas, etc).  It's due to some of the stuff I have to take
to keep my asthma under control so I had a med added to bring the
triglyceride count down.  It's working, but now I'm on another lifetime
med (but it beats a statin).  Now the problem is in a high platelet
count for the last couple of blood tests.

We're tentatively planning to fly back to the mainland, pick up our car
(either ship this one or buy a new one), visit our daughters and then
head out for Georgia in early September.  Some years ago when we moved
from MA to AZ, we drove also.  Since our girls were with us, our game
plan was usually hit a fast food place for supper and something a bit
nicer for supper, breakfast being whatever we found and felt like (fast
food, mom & pop or whatever).  One night we stopped and had supper at a
nice little diner; Steve enjoyed the liver & onions there.  The next
morning before setting out, we had breakfast there.  Buckwheat pancakes
were one of the choices so Steve ordered them.  When they came out, one
of our girls asked if he'd ordered liver pancakes since the buckwheat
flour made them almost the color of the liver he'd had the night before.
