Ärende: Restraunt review

Guyemon's again.  Hey, we like it <G>.

The swapped the male and female toilet room.  I almostwalked in the wrong one
out of habit.  The good thing is the new side has a european style toilet in
it as well as the traditional Japanese 'trough' type sitting in the floor.  It
also had enough room to put in a baby changing table (it's in with the eurpean
style toilet stall).  Only 1 sink now, but I can live with that.

Got there about 3pm and had to wait 15 mins for a table but we got a nice booth
one.

Charlotte had the tempura prawns witha small lettuce salad (no evidence of
dressing but very fresh and little bits of unusual veggies slivered up and
dotted around). Nice tartar sauce, fresh made at the site.  The green bits
arent cucumber pickels but pickled spinach stems chopped fine.  She also had a
side of french fries and a slice of a delectable chocolate cake.

Don had the mixed tempura plate with prawns, oysters, scallops, little dollup
of fresh made potato salad (almost like lumpy mashed potatoes with seasoning
and very good non-sugary type), green salad (looked like almost french
dressing), and a side order of wonderful corn chowder to die for.

I had garlic pork with sesame seeds, salad with a vinigar dressing that
perfectly matched the pork, white miso soup (I shared with Charlotte) with
bits of tofu, green onon, and kangkoon (spinach), rice, pickled spinach and a
sliver of pickled cucumber, gobo root with mushrooms (Cloud ear, enoki,
shmenji) and marinaded brown kelp in a delicate dashi (3rd use).

Only one little mistake.  Ordered Charlotte's milk 'hot' by accident <g>.  Got
warm milk.

Hot green tea for finishing up.

4104Yen for the group (call it 40$).  Yes, we can eat cheaper there, but this
time we just wanted special stuff and i didnt want 'rice porridge' which is my
normal there.  The milk was a minor mistake.  At this season, kids drink
warmed milk because it's cold out and we forgot to specify 'cold'.

I cant call Guyemon's a 5 star place in honesty because it lacks quite the
level of ambiance for that, but it's definately a solid 4 star and i am
positive that everyone here would be totally happy if they ever had a chance
to eat there.  You can get a full and completely wonderful meal for 320yen. 
Most 'appetizers' are a normal american serving size (usually shared here
among 2 diners) and run about 200 yen.

Anyways, after eating and relaxing, we wanderd to the 100 yen store where I got
various office things for work, then a 'drugstore' (closest similar thing you
all will recognize) for hand warmers (a pouch that you open then sqeeze and it
warms up and stays warm/hot for 6-7 hours.  242yen for 12 pack) and bath
salts.
Claires after that had a nice wallet Charlotte liked that she can show her ID
in the front of and i found some earrings.  The toy store yielded 3 pokemon
mini-critters for Charlotte and a battery operated set of 6 inch long beetles
that Don just took to the CPO club with him so he can let them crawl along the
bartop and freak out his friends <g>.  They have a little remote control so
you can make them have beetle-wars with each other.

Last stop was Justco at the bottom 'supermarket' portion.  Justco is the one
here thats a little like a super-Kmart.  Prawns are 80yen each so we got 6 of
them (a little over 1/2 lb?).  I also got 1/3 lb crab leg meat (deshelled,
pre-steamed) for 200 yen. 198yen for a bag of frozen shrimp in a ziplock
container (1/2 lb?  Maybe a bit less, cleaned and shelled).  Small block of
sashimi grade tuna (this was about 1/3 lb for 328yen and in ready to eat
squares with no waste).  Boil-in-bag pork patties with sauce (I didnt look at
the price for this one, they are so good, i dont care but are normally about
150yen each and we got 3).  I also got sundry veggies and fruits and Charlotte
picked out 2 small candy bags.

All in all, a fun day!
