Well, I do that too.  I make simple things often enough.  Toss sme rice in the
pot then look in the fridge.  I snagged one of the pre-baked frozen Idaho's
off Elise before she tookthe kids to the store.  I just threw the poor victim
into the baby-crock with about 2 cups of chicken broth, some of the
'coltsfoot' stuff (seemed right though I do not know if the name of it is
right), and 2 knobs of butter.  I then added the last of my white pepper (1/2
TS? might be a little less) and just a pinch of the korean red dried pepper.

I am defrosting some surnami stuff to saute in a little butter and olive oil
with red and green bell peppers.  For dessert, I am eyeing about but havent
settled that yet.  Probably some raw peanuts in the shell.  I got 3 hours to
figure that out still!

I've heard of that sort of treatment but the flies in Virgina made me take to
something that was more useful there.  I just wash the tomatores and slice
them load them up.  They come out fine for cooking.  If you want fancy, you
spice and lightly oil them first but best to store that sort inthe fridge or
use quickly.

Mostly though, we get it to make home jerky.  The commercial stuff is too salty
and Don's not allowed that much salt anymore.  The taste of warm almost dry
home-made peeled right off the dryer shelf, is wonderful.  That tough beef
steak cut you know wont cook right?  Cook it that way.  Scrumptious extremeo!

Ohh, that would be hard for me to judge.  Crockpot, 2 days....  I have seen
that one mentioned though as a major difference.  Something like 45 mins?
