Put it this way. What you originally described was something
that only boys can do.

Pepper spray, well, I plead guilty. But capsaicin becomes a
nonfood item only when someone threatens to blind you with it:
we have had some culinary fun with the concentrate courtesy of
certain members of this echo.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Meatball Stroganoff
 Categories: Live!, Meatballs, Sauces, Mushrooms
      Yield: 4 Servings

      1 lb Ground chuck
      1 md Onion, chopped fine
      2 sm Garlic cloves, minced
      1 ts Salt
      1 ts Freshly ground black pepper
      1 c  Fresh bread crumbs
      2 lg Egg yolks
      2 tb Olive oil
    1/2 lb Mushrooms, sliced thin
           (about 2 cups)
    1/2 c  Medium-dry sherry
      2 c  Low-salt chicken broth
      2 ts Worchestershire sauce
      2 tb 3 tablespoons minced fresh
           Dill
           Sour cream for garnish

MMMMM------------------------BEURRE MANIE-----------------------------
           Rub together
      2 tb Softened, unsalted butter
      2 tb Flour

  In a bowl stir together, chuck, 4 tablespoons onion, garlic, salt,
  pepper, bread crumbs, and egg yolks. Form into meatballs about 1-inch
  in diameter.

  In a heavy skillet heat oil over moderately high heat until hot but
  not smoking. Cook meatballs, shaking skillet, until well browned,
  about 4 minutes. Transfer meatballs with a slotted spoon to paper
  towels to drain.

  To skillet add remaining onion and salt and pepper to taste and cook
  over moderate heat, stirring until onion is softened. Add mushrooms
  and cook, stirring until liquid is evaporated. Add Sherry and boil
  until almost completely reduced. Add broth and Worchestershire sauce
  and bring to a boil. Add beurre manie, a little at a time, whisking,
  and boil for 2 minutes. Add meatballs and simmer, covered, 5 minutes.
  Stir in dill. Serve with sour cream.

  Yield: 4 servings
