I have picked up some of the westerns but they don't suit me all that well. 
Yes, Charlotte engulfs books like you go for beef steaks <g>.  I reminded
Charlotte ot not add Xenophon to the list because the teacher would have a
hard time believing the list as it was.

Her all time fav?  Little Women.  I used it as a night story book on her when
she was about 7 or 8.  By the time she was 10, she'd read it 5 or 6 times and
the cover fell apart.  There's a watered down kid version of it I think, but I
don't have that one.  Her first books that she read herself, were Pokemon
books.  Probably at least 20 of those loitering around here.

I think it finally kicked in with her english teacher when they had the year
end book sale and Charlotte showed up with 50$.  Carefully selecting
paperbacks so as to make the money last with lots of books, she got some
really good ones.

Not everything she reads is high brow though ;-).  For Charlotte, just like me,
reading is for *fun* and as automatic as breathing.  I really need to find her
more Sherlock Holmes books because she loves mysteries and that's a set I have
little of at home.  I've tried a few times at Amazon but keep getting 'not
available' for the ones she wants or really high prices.

Hey, add that to your list of things we'd want?  She just asked for Sherlock
Holmes, Hound of the Baskervilles. Got that perchance?  Put it on side for us?
