As you'll see in the catch up, it went to a church who operates a soup kitchen.
They were delighted as it was perfect for their needs.  They paid only the cost
of parts for repair at the local Maytag place.  Turned out to be just something
about the compressor and very easy and cheap to fix.

Grin, I had forgotten just how HUGE that thing was.  When we saw it again, we
started laughing.  It's almost the size of a small car!  Well, our Sasebo one
is more energy efficient (mostly because it's smaller) and we didnt need
 anything that HUGE for home use.  It was so big, they had to tie it to the 
Maytag truck and leave the back gate down as it didnt *fit* in the 
long bed appliance truck!  They were laughing too as it had been some time
since
they had seen one that big.  They said it was a commercial unit and a very good
one.  Since they were able to donate it to charity, they gave us back the 20$
haul away fee.  Had it been a freon leak, they were taking it to the dump for
us for that 20$ but the freon turned out fine.

If it had been a freon problem, the unit was too old to fix.  Older style freon
no longer sold so it would have had to be converted and the Maytag folks said 
with a unit that size, it would probably cost less to get a new one as such 
conversions do not work well.  Oh and the haul away fee wasnt just to take it 
to the dump.  It was also to safely (environmentally) drain any remaining freon
had there been any, before disposal.   I dunno how that is done, but that's
why we used a reputable Maytag dealer to begin with.
