Ärende: Thanksgiving

Hi Hap,

It's a bit easier travel leaving Thanksgiving day and returning
Saturday.  Heard that I-95 was a parking lot on Sunday! We had some slow
traffic on both I-75 and 301 because of the Florida/Florida State
football game on Saturday but we were moving (tho slowly).

Military brats generally do.  Once I went to college, then got married,
I started living a ways from where I was born. Before that, it was the
same town where I was born but trips to grandparents, other relatives,
family vacations, etc showed me there was more to the country (and
Canada) than that area of the world.

-> Sounds like a fun day to me.  We traveled, got to my in laws, traveled a

We used to go down to my grandparents in central NJ the night before
Thanksgiving and watch it the next morning.  After my grandmother had a
stroke in 67 (grandfather had passed away in 58), we'd go down on
Thanksgiving day.  I remember one time pulling in and my aunt (who lived
there) telling us to hurry & get inside so we could see Santa Claus.  Of
course she was talking more to my younger siblings; at that time, I was
years past any sort of belief in him.  Even after the parade was over,
it was still a good hour or two until dinner. Long time to go when we'd
had breakfast early (probably 7:30) so we could get on the road for the
3 1/2-4 hour trip--and no snacking allowed.

-> No, but in talking with Rachel on Saturday, she said that she made blue
-> cheese mashed potatoes for their dinner (with friends). I guess she

She didn't mention having any left overs; I'll have to ask next time we
talk.
