I'd say we keep in touch with mostly people we've met thru the military,
most now retired military but a fair number of civilians as well. We do
keep in touch with a couple of my college friends, mostly at Christmas
tho.  They live about an hour from my parents.

Same here.  I was talking with the new battalion commander's wife last
night and realised Robert is now a month younger than Deborah was when
Steve went into the Army. That kid is growing up too fast!

Deborah has the same cell phone provider we do so calls are free back
and forth with her.  Rachel and David have a different provider but
we've all got enough minutes we can chat often.  Steve is also using
Skype at home to talk to her.

It sounds like you did fairly well from what I've read previously.  Just
think, you were eating criossants and drinking evian water before they
became "the" thing to do. (G)

And how many times have you been to Europe since?

That's where we had it good in that Steve didn't go in until the girls
were a bit older.  They knew extended family, even if we didn't see them
but maybe once a year.
