MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05

      Title: Pumpkin Nut Bread
 Categories: Breads, Desserts, Nuts, Vegetable
      Yield: 1 Loaf

  1 1/2 c  Regular all-purpose flour
      2 t  Baking powder
    1/2 t  Baking soda
    1/2 t  Salt
    1/2 t  Ground cloves
    1/4 c  Regular margarine or butter
      1 t  Cinnamon
    1/4 t  Ginger
    1/4 t  Allspice
    1/2 c  Sugar
      1    Egg
    1/2 c  Milk
      1 t  Vanilla flavoring
      1 c  Pumpkin (cooked and mashed)*
      1 c  Shreds of wheat bran cereal
           -or morsels of wheat bran
           -cereal
    1/2 c  Chopped nuts

     *Note that 1 cup pumpkin is half of a 1-pound can; remainder can be
  frozen.
     In small mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking powder,
  soda,salt and spices. Set aside.
     Measure margarine and sugar into large mixing bowl. Beat until well
  combined. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Beat well. Mix in pumpkin,
  shreds of wheat bran cereal and nuts. Add dry ingredients. Mix
  thoroughly. Spread in well-greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
     Bake in oven at 350 F about 50 minutes or until wooden pick
  inserted near center comes out clean. Cool completely before slicing.
     (Suggestion: serve half-slices sandwich-style with softened cream
  cheese as the filling, if desired.)

  Tried and enjoyed in my kitchen! Originally from Kellogg Company, I
  note from note on recipe. My notes: I like pecans or almonds as my
  nuts. I never tried the cream-cheese sandwich, but this is good with
  just a little butter, maybe with tea or coffee as a quick breakfast.
