Ärende: bears & pigs and food, oh my
====================================
Hi Janis,

>> Yep, but that's nothing (grin).. one day we came home from the store
>> and I said to Ron, 'the lizards look really good'... eh.. it was the
>> bananas. but for that minute or two they were called 'lizards' :) :)

 JK> > Makes life interesting. (G)

JK> You have to have a sense of humor to deal with some of the things life
JK> throws at you. At least I do. :)

And I do--I say that sometimes the only way I can get by is to look at
life from a slightly skewed point of view.

>> > We had a cat named Dog once. Long story short, my dad was WWII era
>> table while being > spayed (genetic heart defect). So, we kept
>> Dog--and the name.

>> Neat..

JK> > Sometimes you've got to be a bit off the wall with names for
 JK> critters. > (G)

JK> Yes, that's true - especially when a pet shows some real personality

That's why, in the late 70s, I named a cat Ben because he had the
"personality" of the bear on the Grizzly Adams TV show. A lovable galoof
sort of character.

>> Oh we had skunks :) and wood chucks.. I still remember how bad it was
>> when our irish setter would come home after being hit by skunk :( :(

JK> > Skunks or porcupines--both can be nasty to deal with. Last year the

JK> I think the meanest critter I saw though was a possum.. this one took
JK> up residence in our barn in Louisville... he was nasty as all get

We had one come up thru the bathroom drain pipe enclosure in our house
in NC. Steve was at night school when I heard it--pointed a flashlight,
saw 2 beady eyes and called the city and county cops. They got it out &
boarded up the hole but never let me forget about it. Steve didn't have
his 22 at the time and I would have gotten in trouble for discharging a
firearm in city limits anyway so I had to call them. Those are ugly
looking critters!

JK> out.. I called someone to come over and trap him and release him
 JK> "ELSEWHERE" (bg)..

JK> > night before Easter my dad had to take a dog to the vet around 10:30
JK> as > it had a nose full of quills.

JK> That sounds like a real drag :( Poor dog :(

It was his fault for being so curious!

JK> > That's good. But the times it is there and you want or need to get
JK> > something done, I know can be a real pain.

JK> Yes, that's when the coffee and B12 is used (grin). There are some
JK> vitamins that really do make a difference with MS, at least for me.

I've been using a B complex for close to a year. It somewhat helps my
migraines. I also take fish oil, calcium with D, a multi and 2000 mg of
time release vitamin C, all in addition to perscription meds.

JK> > I grew up with electric. First time using gas was in the college
JK> dorm > kitchen but I've used it quite a bit since. I'd rather have gas
JK> for the > heat control sensitivitiy but Steve says electric is cleaner
 JK> burning and

 JK> It sure is.

But it is so uncontrollable for fine tuning and instant on/off! I'd
still rather have gas.

JK> > thus better for my health. Some places army housing has had gas,
JK> > others, electric and I never know until I move in which I'll have.

JK> Yes it would be for me as well.. I do have some allergies to propane
 JK> and natural gas.

I don't have the allergy issue, just asthma but I'd rather cook with
gas. Besides, I could cook if the power went out if I had gas. Now, if
it goes out, I've got to haul out our propane camp stove or use the
grill.

>>> :( They are nice for soup, etc., but aggravating when what you want
>>> is a normal sized ravioli :) :)

>> > RATS! Are you going to send it back as "not what I wanted" return?

>> Nah, I'll probably sell it on ebay or something.. :)

JK> > As long as it's not sitting around, collecting dust and occupying
 JK> space.

JK> I tried giving one away to my daughter once.. no deal (laugh)

Does she have the pasta maker to use it with?
