Hi Ruth!

>> Well, it wasn't supposed to do that to me (grin).

> We never expect adverse reactions but they do pop up from time to time.
> (G)

That's why I'm always hesitant to start the 'latest greatest' treatments. Some
of them have killed MS patients, sadly enough.. the last one like that was a
combination of an older MS drug treatment with a newly developed one.. that
specific combination of drugs created _another_ rare neurolgical brain disease
that researchers hadn't anticipated. I am GLAD I didn't sign up for that trial
:( And when I say 'older' MS treatment, it wasn't THAT old.. None of the drugs
they use for MS are very old at all... perhaps 10-15 years old for use with MS,
if that.

>> I can understand that..

My daughter is allergic to clorine bleach.. and several cleaning products that
I've used here in the past ... She started me on using vinegar more often than
not, though I'd used it way back when I was in college and broke moneywise :)

That's good.. hate to think that cooking would get to you :)

>> Well, at least you weren't worse.

> I knew better and basically down on everything that wasn't neccessary.

Understand that one :) :)

>>> dog is very square. Toby is a 'block head' lab (in MORE ways than one

>> Lol :) Yes, definitely.

Lol.. so have we (grin). The Block-heads are in a lot of demand for labs
though, because they are really good looking dogs... very handsome dogs.

> So now I'm doing Fido on the EEEPC--and it's going slower--until i get

Sure, will take just a little time.

>> When you think about how many times you were given tea when you had a

> Honestly, never. My folks had other remedies and they were coffee

My parents were coffee drinkers as well, but Mom being a nurse made a
difference I guess.

>> > Even a steam tent wouldn't have worked?
>> No, it didn't help.

> That was a bad attack!

Yes, it was.. that's why I called him at home :) It must have been after
midnight when I called him.

>> >I guess if it's a dry cold, it
>> > would have been good but a damp cold..............
>> This was a frigid night.. no humidity to speak of that I remember.

> Good that the night was so cold. Probably below 0; I've experienced many
> of those.

No doubt below zero.. or close to it. In any case, as I said, I was glad it
worked.. the hospital was just across the street from our house, but I knew
that the doctor didn't live as close to it as we did :(

>>> only time she got bronchitis (which would then run into asthma very

>> > she's a heavy smoker. I'd always come home either with bronchitis or
>> Things should go ok here I think.

> As long as I'm not confined to a room where there are a lot of smokers,

There's only one room in the house where smoking is "allowed", because of my
daughter (who plain cannot stand the smell (g)) and my son's girl-friend
(asthma).. but most times I smoke outside to start with. With the season,
there shouldn't be any reason for people to smoke inside that I can figure -
I'm not expecting any snowstorms that weekend, afterall (grin).

> I should be OK. I've asked for a non rainy weather report for the week
> end. (G)

hehe.. we can hope :) today was beautiful and I got a lot done in the garden,
but now it's looking overcast and I see we have a thunderstorm 'warning' for
severe thunderstorms.. rats.. lost one modem last time.. don't want to lose
this one until the other is repaired.. They are goth USR Courier V.Everything
modems so I'll send the first one that was cooked the other day back to USR
when I get a chance.

We're still coffee diehards (laugh). Not enough hours in the day, it seems.
But we also drink tea pretty often just because we like it.

Agreed.

Italian Greenbeans with Balsamic Vinegar

1 package frozen Italian flat greenbeans, or 1 pound fresh greenbeans
     1 clove garlic, minced
     1/2 cup olive oil
     1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

Cook the greenbeans for about half the recommended time on the package. If you
are using fresh greenbeans, cook in salted, boiling water until just done, but
don't let them get too soft. Drain the greenbeans. If you have a microwave,
rinse the greenbeans, shake off the excess water and put them in a covered
casserole dish. Microwave them for about 4 minutes. Watch the time since some
microwaves are more powerful than others.

Warm the olive oil in a 10 inch skillet, and add the garlic, sauteeing until
golden. Cool. Add the greenbeans to the oil and garlic, then add the balsamic
vinegar and toss. Serve warm.
