I don't understand why the big objections to nukes occur. If the operators are
properly trained up and standards maintained there should be no problems in
operation. As to the waste spent fuel - no one has come up with a storage
solution yet. So, why not, once the NASP (space plane) to LEO is ready, carry
the containers of waste to orbit with an attached small booster - just enough
to get the package over the edge of the (11m/s) gravity well that remains after
achieving orbit. And zip the thing into the sun or out of the solar system
altogether. Seems simple to me - and that's why it will probably never fly (all
puns intended).

There were capacious leather saddle bags on the Indian. Could fit a 24 pack on

      Title: Creole Crab Burgers
 Categories: Sandwiches, Seafood, Crab, Chilies, Cajun
      Yield: 4 servings
 
      1 lb Lump crabmeat; picked over
    1/4 c  Mayonnaise
      3    Scallions; thinly sliced
      1 lg Egg; lightly beaten
      1 ts Worcestershire sauce
    3/4 ts Dry mustard
    1/2 ts Cayenne
  1 3/4 c  Fine dry bread crumbs;
           - divided
    3/4 c  Vegtable oil
      4    Kaiser rolls; split and
           Toasted

           Tartar sauce
           Iceberg lettuce
 
  Food lovers on America's coasts have long known that crab
  cakes make wonderful sandwiches. A thin layer of tangy
  tartar sauce and crisp lettuce is all the accompaniment
  these panfried cakes need.
  
  Stir together crabmeat, mayonnaise, scallions, egg, Worcester
  sauce, mustard, cayenne, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 3/4 cup
  bread crumbs in a bowl until just combined. Form into 4
  (1-inch-thick) patties (3 1/2 inches in diameter; patties
  will be soft but will firm up when fried). Spread remaining
  cup bread crumbs on a plate, then dredge patties in crumbs,
  knocking off excess, and transfer to a platter.
  
  Heat oil in a 12-inch heavy skillet over medium heat until
  it shimmers, then fry patties, turning over once, until
  golden, 5 to 6 minutes total. Transfer to paper towels
  to drain.
  
  Assemble burgers with buns and accompaniments.
  
  Cooks’ note: Patties can be formed, without bread-crumb
  coating, 12 hours ahead and chilled, covered. Dredge in
  bread crumbs just before frying.
