As we're friends we won't force you to do something that is
contrary to nature. Especially if you lay out a hundred
smackeroos on cheese for our delectation.

Considering that your first favorite cost half as much, it strikes
me that not buying this one is the better part of valor. It was my
first favorite, and I wouldn't buy it at the price.

 ml-> Black Diamond grand reserve 2 years old ($10.49) - tart,
 ml-> more milk presence than the others; some crystals but still
 ml-> quite good

The texture kind of puts me off, and if I have to keep spitting out
little pearls, the pleasure is much diminished. I've had this issue
with aged Gouda (I don't like Gouda anyway) and Parmesan as well.

 ml-> tart with a bitter note; lots of umami; good

A bit milky for my palate. I thought it was sort of medium.

 ml-> Heluva Good smoked ($6.29) - rather soft; good smoke, decent
 ml-> tang; texture ranks it down to okay

Oddly, there was a period in my life when my mother used to put
smoked Cheddar in my lunch box. I got tired of that fairly
rapidly. I don't remember whether that was coincident with the
period when she gave me a tuna sandwich every day for a year,
with the result you might expect regarding me and tuna fish.

That Kerrygold is a disappointment whenever I encounter it.
Cheddar from Cheddar might have been interesting, though.

     Title: APRICOT & HAZELNUT FRIANDS
Categories: Smlcakes
  Servings: 1

     60 g  Flour- plain
     60 g  Sp- hazelnut meal
    125 g  Sugar- castor
    125 g  Egg whites
    1/4 c  Butter- unsalted; melt
        pn Salt
      2 tb Honey
           Dryf- apricots
           ; extra butter for moulds

Preheat oven to 200^C. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl & add
the hazelnut meal & sugar. Whisk the egg whites with salt till
stiff. Fold through dry ingredients, then butter, honey & sliced
apricots.

Grease the friand [or small muffin] tins, then spoon in the mix.
Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes. Allow to cool in the tins.
