Oh, I like that idea!  One of many but a good one!  I bet there's enough other
 folks who know those areas and the good stomping grounds, we'd be fine for a
day <g>.  I really DO love orchestras and classical music.  It may sound a
little silly but I took a class in college (had to have an arts elective) in
'music appreciation' and gained a love for classical.  Ok, oddball classical
too as I love gregorian chant.  I dont have a real 'favorite' among the
types, just liked them.

A *quick* scan yielded that it's pretty pricey to be right in the beach area,
walking distance to the beach.  Also, no units with kitchenettes there.  That
doesnt mean we dont have'em, just my searches didn show web sites with them.

Of course, I was looking at peak season dates too.  There was little to be
found for less than 100$ a night right in the hot spot of the beach area and
quite a few were 200$ or more.

That doesnt mean they dont have cheaper, but they were not on the hotel.com
site.  I know just by driving by, several quaint and nice looking spots. 
They dont have pools and such, but look like they may have kitchenettes. 
It;s common here to have a 'community room' you can 'rent' with a full
kitchen, in the hotel for a party.

As things develop, I can look into such in a few days if folks like the idea.

Cool!  Free waterfront ones here too but I dont know if it's anything
classical.  Just lots of fireworks over the ocean.

If she's still into it!  She has a large place, pretty much a farm.  Several
acres, BBQ setups, all that.

Actually, I have done that but the conditions are so different that there is
no way to compare it.  I'd be at sea for months on end and when I did get a
chance to see land, it was often only 1 night I could stay out (others had to
be onboard by 6:30am an transport could make that a problem if you stayed out
that night.  Something the ship's section leader can not afford to be late
for is turnover at 7am!)

I often opted for the higher end places with full services so I didnt need to
even leave my room except to wander to the restraunts or bars if I didnt want
to, that one day.  I'd do this 3, maybe 4 times a year.

Hehe well, it's patient and waiting for when I get 'around-2-it'.  It looks
like it will hold a week fine if need be.

I saw an interesting one with steaming the cored kohlrabi the stuffing it
back with it's own gizzards mixed with a sour cream, cheese, and smoked
salmon.  You dress the top with bread crumbs and bits of chopped fresh
tomato?  Dunno.  I usually cook a new to us food, more simply to see what it
is like.

It used to be I wouldnt even look a new item up, but this one was easy to look
up so found a few ideas.  I also liked some of the coleslaw-like versions
that I saw.  I am wondering if it woould work in a kimchee?
