My dad always let us climb whatever trees we wanted.  At the time, our
property had no signifigant trees of climbing size but we were
surrounded by our neighbor's land that did.  He (neighbor) always let us
have free run of his acerage; it included several hills that were good
for sledding.

I had the usual kid stuff--chicken pox, measles (no mumps tho), 3 day
measles and colds.  Colds were probably more bronchitis in reality but
wasn't called that--just a "bad cold"; my parents still tend to
disregard colds as anything more.  I also broke my left elbow playing on
a suspended ladder (kind you "walk" across on yur hands)--did that on my
7th birthday.

Could be that they didn't research what peaches grow best in the area.

We've pipe dreamed a few times too.  Steve has talked about dome homes
off and on but we don't know what route we'll go yet.  Just as long as
it has a good sized kitchen and room I can use for a sewing studio.

I could see the sense of some folks wanting to carve it up into
apartment but it has so much more character as one big house.  You can
really have fun decorating it.

A wood stove would not work for me, nice as they are.

That's a big help--both the fencing and an herb garden already.

Every little bit helps.  Too bad she can't get combo storm/screen
windows.  My dad put them in about 40 years ago; it does save a lot of
work every fall and spring.

We're having warm and wet (Hanna is brushing close enough that we have
tropical storm warnings--basically we'll have wind and rain.) but it's
typical for this time of year.  Had a letter from my mom & dad fussing
about all the tomatoes they're getting; they're thinking of nothing but
pasta this winter, made with the tomatoes my mom is canning.  OTOH, I'd
use some for ketchup, salsa & other things.

That's why I prefer to live in the south. (G)

It's hard on kids to be "diffeerent."  Hopefully he will stay with his
what he needs to eat as a teen instead of trying to fit in with the
group and having health issues because of it.
