It's traditionally been on the main day so that the maximum
number of people would be afflicted by, er, introduced to it.

Ithaca is a nice enough place, just don't make me go to that
godforsaken Moosewood place again.

It was wonderful, comparable to any we've had. I can't think of
one less than great - except for the one where Patrick was off
his meds and went off on all and sundry, and even it was fine
except when I was interposing myself between him and the more
conflict-averse people around. Haven't seen or heard from him
since.

Most of my best friends, past, present, and future are this
way. It's not exactly perfectionism, which can be a disease,
but the desire to get things just plain done.

Not as bad as lawyers, who are "off" all the time.

I plead the fifth regarding theater.

Oysters Birtley

2 avocados
juice 1 small lemon
20 Sydney rock oysters
salt and pepper
1 dessertspoon dry white wine
brown bread and butter

Halve the avocados, scoop
out some of the centre, including both stones, sprinkle lightly with salt
and lemon juice. Fill each avocado half with 5 Sydney rock oysters. Sprinkle
with wine and pepper. Allow to stand for 4 to 5 hours. Serve well chilled
with brown bread and butter.
