Wee bit off the generation of mine, but not so far that is wasnt a familiar
tale and not that long ago when I was growing up.

Mom did that, but stopped when I heaved my cookies at the liver the first time
. The second time was a different recipe and I was game to try. (even as a
kid, I was always willing to try something new!). Didnt work.

Mom was sensible about it. We werent served huge servings and a little bit
extra was there if we were hungry for seconds.

We had our preferences, but Mom was a very simple bland cook in those days.
I think most were. There just wasnt the variety of today's stores to peruse.

Thats what I did at the table. Mom was suitably horrified. Ever after, she
never 'made us' eat something. She allowed a minimal trading if we were very
polite about it. (she pre-plated our meals). I'd trade 1/2 my rice for my
brothers veggies for example. (Mom made that separatist rice sort and I will
admit, she did it very well and has the only type of that genre I will enjoy
eating).

We all learn. Some things carry over well, others do not.

Oh, and it was a chicken liver attempt when I was 8, but I tried them again
when the mil made them for us after we got here the first time. Real simple
recipe, I actually like it.
