Mine is the standard "ball" of twine sold at kitchen stores.  Got it in
HI; a few weeks ago, it started coming unwound since you pull from the
center to use it.  At first, I just put a rubber band around it. The
other day, I rewound it into a soild ball, with an end "start". It's
maybe golf ball size, down from an original baseballish size. I remember
my dad having a big "spool" of regular twine in the cellar when I was a
kid but it was never used in the kitchen.

She's in no hurry to get one; I think she's thinking about "flipping"
this house in a few years.  When, and if, she sells, she will put a
stove in before putting it up for sale.

Same here but I eventually want some say so in the stove I will get.
Right now, it's still a matter of using what's available in the "rental"
place--and I don't like smooth top electric stoves.
