========================
Hi Carol,

 > CS> Yes, basic. 4 outlets (might be 3) along a counter with storage below

 > Go for the 4; you won't regret it later.

CS> Thats true. The reason of thinking 3 was it's not but 6ft or so there
CS> and there is an outlet (2 but one used by fridge) already. 6 whole
CS> feet of countrspace here would be a god sent gift!

Six feet is enough space to put a number of small appliances. It's
probably the size of one of our kitchen counter tops. I have the
toaster, can opener, food processor (a big old 14 cup one) and KA mixer
on it. When I do bread (as in today) the food processor gets unplugged.
(There are 2 double outlets on that wall.) We also keep the bananas
there (moved so they don't get over ripe from the heat when I make
bread), the basket for napkins and a few other misc items.

One place we rented had a total of 4 outlets in the 2 bedroom house, 2
outlets in the kitchen, 1 in the living room and I've forgotten (bath
room maybe?) where the last one was. Steve wired in more so that we
could run air conditioners, my dryer, a big (22 c/f) freezer and other
stuff. That was one place we left better than when we moved in.

 > CS> and above. Have to figure out how to get the china cabinet in there
 > CS> too but at need, it can go back in the livingroom again.
 CS> >

CS> If I do the kitchen mini-job, the china cabinet has to move. There
CS> will no longer be wall space for it.

There should be room somewhere else. Most places we've lived, we've
had to put the buffet in the living room as there was no proper dining
room or room in the dining area. It's a big old antique one we were
given while in Germany--my "Over my dead body will it be given away"
piece of furniture. (G) But sometimes it is fun trying to figure out
where to put it.

 > CS> a cigarette stain from the renters that can not be hidden.
 CS> >
 > Go for new linoleum now (or whenever you do the other kitchen work) so
 > you won't have to tear up the room twice.

CS> My thought was both at same time. Latr, we have to have the carpets
CS> ripped out and I have no clue what to do with our 'stuff' so have held
CS> off for now. The 70Gallon fish tank is a particular problem to move.

Do the carpets in the summer so some of the stuff can go on the unheated
porch. You may have to rent a storage facility for a month--which is
longer than needed for the carpet job but I don't think they do by the
week rentals--for your stuff. The fish tank will be a challenge but I'm
sure some solution can be found (put them in the bath tub?). (G)

 > CS> It's small on counterspace, but large on size. Odd but true. I could
 > CS> put a table for 6 in the center easily. I just like the easy traffic
 > CS> flow tot he fridge on the other side so have not.
 CS> >
 > Put in a smaller table? It's nice to sit to do some prep work. I can't
 > be on my feet too long so I do sit down for jobs like rolling meat
 > balls.

CS> For the future, we can, as it is we kinda like it wide open. Remember
CS> Janis's and shuffling about the island? My kitchen is a bit like here
CS> but with no island (grin).

Yes but a table would give us a chance to sit around and heckle
whoever's cooking. (G)

 > Find a kitchen/restaurant supply place that sells to the public. That's
 > where I got my plastic cutting boards--in Aiea. Could have bought a
 > whole lot more there too (G) & prices were very reasonable.

CS> Oddly there is one 100 yards from here but no sales to the public
 CS> (drats).

Sigh! Are there others in the area? That would make a fun "field trip"
for a picnic activity.

 > CS> Opps over deleted. I'd take you as a teacher if we were close enough!
 CS> >
 > Guess we'll have to plan some get togethers. Raleigh/Wake Forest is
 > closer than Savannah but still a few hours drive.

CS> Hehehe keep it in mind for some future visit from us maybe!

Rough guess-timate is that we'd be in the ball park of about 200 miles
apart. Close enough to get together for some sewing lessons or Italian
cooking ones.
