Don't look at the man behind the curtain!  As long as it's related to
food somehow, most anything goes around here.  It can be a recipe, write
up of an eatery (plain or fancy), raving about a new kitchen "toy" or
most anything in between and the man behind the curtain won't try to
pretend he's the great and mighty OZ.

Steve (my husband, he will pop in here from time to time) and I use a
lot of whole grains in our diet.  We don't keep white rice, sugar or
flour in the house.  For the most part, our main meat is some form of
poultry but we've had a bit more red meat over the past couple of
months, trying to build my iron level up.

Stick around, you'll get to know me. (G)  I had a case that was caught
early and treated aggressively (I didn't need chemo tho) to knock it
out.  As Carol said, all of my tests have been clear since finishing
radiation just over a year ago.

So far, I've not been restricted on my diet except when I was having the
radiation. I couldn't have anything strong in anti oxidants because
they could kill off the good cells as well at the time. That meant no
chocolate, even on Valentine's Day.  Steve made it up to me this year
with 2 boxes of chocolate and some chocolate/raspberry tea bags. (G)


 PC> awake.   Night is always H*ll with pain...to the point I was

I've not had problems with that, cancer related. I've had enough broken
bones (some quite severely) that tend to keep me awake.  During the day
I try to keep busy enough so I don't notice the pain; at night, when I'm
trying to relax & sleep, it hits me.

We're all in this together.  Pull your chair up to the kitchen table &
