Only difference is that your short drive would be a medium drive here.
And that your speed limits are obviously higher than ours, since a 4
hour trip is generally closer to 200 miles or so, unless it's all on
high-speed roads, which usually take one out the the way to do that. :) 
Now my sister, living out in the boonies outside Rochester would
probably classify short drives at 20-30 miles... ;)

Ah, but the joke is (although she was quite serious about it), the only
reason she might have sped was if she lost track of how fast she was
driving, which wasn't likely in the first place, and she generally drove
below the limit anyway... :)  Much more the quintessential "little old
lady" driver than I... I probably more resemble that "granny" in the
50's/60's song...

Depends on where I was doing it...  and on a well moon-lit night one can
see quite far, almost as good as day...  And I probably wouldn't get
over 100 anyway... maybe on a controlled track...?

Now that sounds like fun...  :)   And I can see where the looooong
stretches would be an encouragement to open things up, to keep from
being bored silly, if nothing else...  ;)
