Ever have a Lilac (Beemer copy)? My first Matchbox was a 650cc G-12, a
successful Bonneville competitor. Then I moved up to a G-80 500cc single. And
from there to a BSA Goldstar. My only Norton was a John Player special the
local dealer traded me for a car I owned. He had the bike on his floor and it
was brand new (but, 2 years old) and needed a ride for his teen aged daughter.
I won on that deal. Wish I still had the JPS, though.

I did a Ducati Diana (I am currently on the scout for another), Benellis, and
an Ossa. Oddly all the Spanish bikes seemed to be 250cc ring-a-dings.

Never owned a Harley. Only been tempted twice - once by a Sportster but the
dealer pissed me off. And currently by my club mate's KHK which looks and
sounds like a KR flat-track racer w/rear brakes.

Oh, yeah, I am also a member of Vintage Iron Riders, a local club of old (and
not so old) motorcyclists dedicated to advancing boldly into the past.   Bv)=

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
  
      Title: Spanish Rice
 Categories: Mexican, Vegetables
      Yield: 4 servings
 
      3 tb Shortening
  1 1/2 c  Rice
    1/2 c  Onion; sliced
    1/2 c  Bell pepper; sliced
     14 oz Can whole tomatoes
      1 md Clove garlic; minced
      1 ts Black pepper
      2 ts Salt
      3 c  Water
  
  Melt shortening in large skillet. Add rice and brown. When rice
  is a golden brown, reduce heat and add onion, bell pepper,
  tomatoes, garlic and pepper. Mix well and add 1 1/2 cups warm
  water or enough to just cover the rice. Add salt.

  Cover and let simmer until almost dry. Add remaining water,
  cold, a little at a time, cooking over low heat until fluffy.

  Note: You may substitute peeled, seeded, green chile for the
  bell pepper.
