What you CAN do is what _I_ did, at my Mom's (the nurse (g)) suggestion, and it
worked.. It brought my incredibly high Triglycerides level down from *560* (I
am NOT exaggerating) down to a normal 140 in about 2 months.

My Doc had written a prescription for me when he saw that 560 figure (boy was
he in a panic when he saw it had increased over last year's normal figure of
about 220);

But I never took the pills because I saw that the side effects could include
'leg cramps', and I knew I didn't need that with the crap that goes on with my
legs (g).. so I never filled the prescription.

Here's what Mom told me to do:

Go to your drug store and buy

1. Niacin in the vitamin area, you can get "No-Flush" Niacin so that you don't
get "heat-rushes" from the niacin (g). Take one a day.
2. Also get Omega-3 Fish Oil.  Take it once a day (think most of them are a
tablespoon a day, or a capsule a few times a day).

My doctor asked me if I minded if he showed my results to all of his patients,
he was so ecstatic over this.  :)

Now everyone in my family is doing this haha.. I guess I was the guinea pig Lol
but my mom was always on top of this kind of stuff from way back.  We always
checked with her and Dad before going to the Doc.. (g).


===Finoccia Salad===
4 large bulbs finoccia
Grated rind of 1 lemon
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 bay leaf
4 Tablespoons tomato paste
3 cups dry white wine
salt
fresh, ground black pepper
8 coriander seeds
4 Tablespoons olive oil

Put finoccia, lemon zest, thyme, bay leaf , tomato paste and wine into a
stove-top safe casserole.  Season with salt and pepper, then add coriander
seeds and oil.  Simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.  Cool, pour into deep dish
and chill before serving.
