==================
Hi Ruth,

-> paper. I will type my class papers on the little EeePC; it'll be quite
-> different. (Time out to finish making a pitcher of iced tea.) AFAIK, I
-> won't have to follow any particular method of style; the seminary
-> prefers Turabian so Steve will be using that.

 RH> Pre-kids would make a difference.  Post-kids too.  A pinched nerve or
 RH> the MS (hard to tell the difference) has been making my right hand
 RH> tingle all day. It's happened before. It was pretty numb when I woke
 RH> up, so I'm

No un, if it's either a nerve or NS. I've had minor tingles when I hit
the elbow wrong--did it the other day with the left one and got a tingle
that I'd not had in years. Maybe the nerve is getting better?

 RH> thinking nerve. Seems to be improving though. As for Turabian, been
 RH> there did that. It's been a while though.

I'll just have to give him lots of tea & sympathy. He's on his owm for
paper typing since I'll have my own to worry about.

-> RH> I've been thinning out my book collection. My cookbook rack is a

-> I've got about 5 shelves of 2 3 shelf units commandeered so far.

 RH> I've got the paperbacks on smaller hanging rack whatsits suspended
 RH> between two shelves. It keeps them out of harm's way.

OTOH, the greater share of mine are in paperback. Moving around, having
to make a weight allowance, made me go that route.

->  RH> and other things.  I figure anything post-1945 that I haven't used

-> Anything interesting? Ethnic? I'm thinning down my sewing/craft books

 RH> Those tend to be the keepers, except for some rather bland Caribbean
 RH> stuff. The one is from Bermuda, but the recipes are all British.
 RH> One's a
 RH> Pennsylvania Dutch hardback, but it's a book club edition. Another is
 RH> a classical French book, but it's from the Plaza or some other New
 RH> York hotel rather than France.

IOW, sounds like good fodder for a library donations sale. When my mom
worked at the town lbrary, she said that cook books were the hottest
items at book sales. She retired from that job several years ago so I
can't get a sneak preview.

-> but I'm pretty much done with that job. I'll go thru loose recipies,
-> then photos while we're here in NC and probably go thru the cookbooks
-> after I finish those jobs. All that and work on a diploma and try to
-> sew down my stash.

 RH> Sewing down the stash is a thankless tast. I try, but it keeps growing
 RH> back, rather like toenails and hair. I clip mine, but it keeps growing
 RH> right back.

Sounds like here. I boought the fabric to back a quilt for Sarah since
we moved up here. (G) I made an executive decision the other day--clear
my sewing room of all non sewing/crafting stuff and other things that
have found their way in but not sewing related. I'm also going to store
my thimble & shadow box collections while here; we just don't have that
much wall space. That, and the time I need to set it up/take it down
when we move is quite labor intensive. I need the time for other
projects at the moment. Fabric will stay in the room, to be sewn up as
time and energy permit.

-> If you have enough of them sitting around. As I've been cleaning up,
-> I've found lots of little note pads, sticky back and otherwise.

 RH> I can't keep track of them around here. They keep popping up.

I have note pads everywhere, from everywhere it seems.

-> Only one lid for the box but I've still got a good pie carrier.

 RH> That'll change. A few classes with a few hundred page papers and....

Not any of mine, that's sure.

-> -> RH> What, you didn't design one for a programmable sewing machine to
-> RH> embroider?

-> That was his first thought but by the time we put the work into this, we
-> decided not to take it the step further for now. It's saved so we can
-> pull it up later to re do if we want to embroider a name tag.

 RH> Sounds like a plan. Then again, anything that saves people from
 RH> reading my handwriting would sound like a plan.

Only requirement was that it had to be readable. BTW, I saved the test
print outs, just in case I need a template for another project.

Catch you later,
