Hi Ruth!

>> > You just wait until they all descend on you this summer.

>> Looking forward to it, should be a very good time :)

> And, if all goes the way we'd like, we'll be there.

Hope so :) We've lots of space here so the more the merrier.

>> That was generally the case back then from what I saw.

Neat :) Sadly, our school didn't have such a team ..

That is some record to aim for :) :) But it doesn't hurt to expect the best!
We used to love watching the show when he was on. What a great player he was.

No doubt. Since this was in NYS, the concern wasn't as bad I expect... though
there was an "almost" identical house in design, but not size down the street
from my mother's house (about 6 houses away from Mom's). Upon investigation of
old village records I found out that in the 1600's the entire street where my
mom's house was had been owned by one of the village's early "elders" so to
speak... and he had a main house where my mom's house was, and servants
quarters down the street (that smaller house that looked so much like
 Mom's house (g))... the servants probably only slept there, going to the main
house to cook. Ron and I bought that smaller house when the kids were small and
it was neat to live down the street from "Grandma" :)

>> That's great :)  We raided the healthfood store's beef again (g).
>> Still waiting for that farmer to call me back about the slaughter date

Lol.. that's what I figure :)

>> It's warming up now though.. last night it was about 48F.. that's

Forget the above "warming trend"... haha.. it's back to the 20's with bitter
cold winds :(

>>> ===Zia Carmella's  Stuffed Peppers===
>>> 4 large sweet peppers, cleaned, pickled or blanched salt (optional)
>>> 6 tablespoons butter
>>> 1/2 cup dry  breadcrumbs
>>> 1/4 cup pine nuts
>>> 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
>>> 2 tablespoons raisins
>>> 3 tablespoons dry sherry
>>> 1 tablespoon brown sugar

>> > The stuffing looks good in its own right, subbing chicken or beef

>> Should work, but I've never done that :)

> We don't use alcohol so I have to come up with alternatives in recipes.
> Sometimes it's easy to see what else would work and give a similar

Sure, I can understand that :) A lot of people don't use alcohol in their
cooking. A lot of times I just don't have wine or whatever in the house.
Sometimes I'll use lemon juice instead.. sometimes, chicken broth or beef
broth. Sometimes I'll dilute wine vinegar 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water.
Balsamic vinegar works really well in that way :)

Take care,
Janis
