Well, no one stopped you playing.  (Reminds me of the old busker I saw

No wonder you escaped at the first opportunity when the warders were
not looking, so that you could self-medicate.

I note that Senator Hilary Clinton's husband has joined the Stent
Club.  He was up and about again quite quickly.

Point taken.  See below.  As I couldn't find a Lehmann, perhaps a
Seppelt from even older times will suffice?

Which justifies the "no throwing" rule of cricket.  A throw is faster
than a bowl.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: OX TONGUE
 Categories: Australian, Barossa
      Yield: 6 Servings
 
      1    Ox tongue
      1 t  Peppercorns
      1 pn Salt
      6    Cloves
      2    Bay leaves
      2    Onions
    1/4    Carrot
    1/4    Parsnip
      2 T  Butter
      3 T  Flour
           S & P
           Nutmeg to taste
      2 T  Sweet wine
 
  Cover ox tongue with water, add peppercorns, pinch of salt, cloves,
  bay leaves, onions, carrot and parsnip.  Simmer for 3 hours.
  
  Strain and skin the tongue, and cut into slices.
  
  Mix in saucepan butter and flour, and stir until it browns, then add
  stock the tongue has been boiled in.  Add a little meat extract if
  liked, and salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste.
  
  Add enough stock to make it a nice thickness, then add about 2
  tablespoons of sweet wine, then add tongue.  Simmer for about 20
  minutes.
  
  Serve with small squares of pastry or toast.
