Definately not worth it.  It's one of the more archaic (IMO) features
the stove manufacturers persist in putting on as a "selling point".

OK, I'll probably leave the pot at home but bring a cookie sheet or 2.

Your choice if you want a real plate under the paper but I'd go with
just a good quality paper or plastic, and lots of them.  Same with
bowls and "silverware"; the idea is to make clean up easy for the host
family.  We can serve the food out of your plates, bowls, etc but eating
off of disposables is the way to go.

As I said above, I'll bring a cookie sheet or 2.  The meat combo I use
doesn't generate a lot of grease/fat; if I foil line the sheets, clean
up is easy & someone else can use them in short order.

We don't do ground beef either, unless I get the natural (organic is the
wrong word), usually grass fed, hormone free.  Might be able to find
some buffalo.

A turntable is good for a microwave--saves having to stop it and
manually rotate the dish several times.  My first few micorwaves didn't
have one so we got a wind up one with the first one.  We called it "the
rattlesnake" because of the sound it made while running. (G)  OTOH, with
a built in turntable, you can't use a temperature probe; those were
handy when I'd want to heat something to an exact (within 5 degrees)
temperature.

Hurrah!  Now the critters can play outside!  I'm looking forward to
