Much better than I thought.  AFAIK, very few public shools let you pick
your own sub.  Most of then, when you let them know you need a sub, just
start dialing down the list until one agrees to come in. My dad did sub
work one time--got called for anything from Home Ec to English.  In the
latter, the teacher had given the kids a list of vocab words & meanings;
trouble is, the meanings were completly unrelated to the word.  He
taught them how to use a dictionary to look up the proper meaning.
IIRC, there were quite a few misspellings in the list as well.

That is quite a range of kids to work with.  Are there classroom aides
to help?  I hope so; it sounds like she really has to fine tune IEPs for
the kids.  Back when we went to school, there were no IEPs for most
classes, probably only the special needs one. In the others, it was sink
or swim.

Good, primary care doctors can have a lot of influence if needs be and
if they are strong enough advocates.  Sounds like you have a good one.

That doesn't sound like fun!  Do something extra special for her
tonight, maybe another candy bar?

With that one in particular, realistic is the better way to go, even if
it's the harder one.  But, hope and pray; miracles do happen.

I know the feeling, all too well.  Then if it's a pain killer you need
to take with food, you have to be careful not to eat so much you can't
sleep because of that.  I went to the doctor today as a follow on for a
couple of med changes we made last month.  Going to keep up with them
which means a light munchie before bed time still.  A lot of times I'll
grab a small cup of yogurt.
