Hi Ruth,

>> Mom went back to Florida. We weren't using the thing ever (bg). They
>> made much better use of it that we did.

> We don't have a land line. The last place we had one was in HI because

Yes, I know a lot of people who only have cell phones now. It's funny that I
didn't take a liking to the thing when we had it.. just never seemed
comfortable to use somehow.

> And our recall work was done today. Steve had it in for the 15,000 mile
> servicing at the same time, came home and got a couple of nibbles, then

It's been so many years it seems since we have bought a "new" new car, that I
was totally shocked when the sales-manager called me after we bought the Kia to
see how things were going (bg). She's the one who told me the history of the
car and about the young man she'd originally sold it to.

Now that's handy in the heat :)

>> Would be nice Lol :) Now, I have to count my automatic floor cleaner
>> that will move with us when and if we sell.. the dogs (g). You can't
>> count the cats because they keep bringing IN dinner eeeek... a little
>> snake was in the mudroom today (bg).

> Just trying to pay for their upkeep. (G)

hahahahaha :) That's one way to look at it.... though I keep telling them it's
not necessary :)

Latest thing for the pups has been to root around in the grape arbor.. there's
a ton of interesting "stuff" in there, not all only ours originally - some
probably still from the people who owned the house before us :) When I pick
grapes in the fall, that's not where I'm looking (g). So the two of them
decided to show me what they had 'found'.. they dragged in the long yellow
plastic "slip and slide" thing right through the dog door :) What a mess!! So
Ron had to go out there and put all of those kinds of things in our shed. They
haven't figured out how to get that door open thank goodness (g).

>Every so often when we drop
> some food we'll think of Sam; he did a good job of keeping our floors
> clean.

Yes, so did my parents irish setter. He was quite the thief too.. now I see
Indy getting really excited and interested when anyone is walking around with
anything edible.. here it comes (g).

>> Yes, depending on how high you keep it during the day, that's true..
>> and how much it drops at night I guess. We don't do it here.. it's
>> not warm enough to warrant the difference in the morning.

> We have a lot of variables in the temps here. It was rough getting used
> to it after the time in HI; the first winter in GA was really cold!

Hehe.. I've read that HI is the perfect place for people with MS because of
even temperatures.. I don't know if that's true though. I bet the change to GA
was a surprise to your system.. it was funny, when we got back to NY from KY,
the 'warmth' stayed with me for at a year or two. I didn't really feel the
difference til a few years had passed.. crazy body (g).

> We've somewhat adjusted, but not fully. I plan on cooking lots of warm
> the tummy foods in the winter, just as now, in summer, meals are a lot
> lighter.

Yes, I'm thinking about dinner now AAMOF.. think I'll go lazy and just dig up
leftovers (g)

>>> She doesn't seem willing to do so, period. She won't give up going
>>> out on weekends, for example (meeting with friends to drink and dance,
>>> etc.).

>> > I'd have her reported for negligence of the elderly in her care
>> then.

>> No, I don't want to make it rougher on Mom, and that's what that might
>> do. At least it's Spring now, and the weather should be nice down
>> there (compared to the heat of the Summer).

> We'll keep the situation in our prayers.

Thanks - so far no big complaints so I'm hoping for the best down there.

>> > Talk them into one rice cooker full of brown per day, then increase
>> as > sales of it go up. Take them samples.

>> I may do that. Show them the menu from the other place in Binhamton
>> as well :)

> Good idea; maybe they will take the hint. White rice is cheap but
> doesn't have the nutritive value of brown, by a long shot! It's also
> tasteless so I usually put soy sauce on it. (G)

Exactly.. sometimes I make white rice for some reason or other, depending on
the dish, but white rice is especially bad for blood sugar from what I've read.
We don't need to add problems with diabetes to the pile of things over here (g)

Take care,
Janis
