Worse-I have to find the nearest bathroom and quick.  It's a very
prolonged event also-I've found as I've gotten older, I've gotten a
lot more sensitive, but then again, with the copious amounts of
medication I'm on, who knows what else could be aggrivating it.

I've always been very sensitive to MSG and food colorings.  I'm also
actually allergic to whey and I'm not supposed to eat wheat (due to
mold contamination-I'm so sensitive to mold that I've gone into
anaphylactic [sp] shock from being exposed to it in a building)
either, but I do anyway and I pay the price-my ears fill with fluid
and I puff up like a pufferfish for an hour or so, but it goes away.

I was told that the things you crave the most your body sometimes
can't handle properly.  For me, it's cheese...mmm, cheese.  I also
love me some hot, fresh bread with melted real butter on it too...two
things I'm not supposed to have either!

Due to the heavy steroid use I had to endure as a young child, I've
got a really bad internal body-wide candida yeast infection, so I'm
supposed to avoid feeding it at all costs.  I can't take the actual
medication to stop it-my liver is messed up and quite frankly, the
cure might kill me, so I live with it.

But, then again, as I've grown older, I've learned to simply tolerate
the misery for enjoying some of my favorite foods.  My milk/cheese
problems are not as bad as they used to be, but I don't indulge in
those very often anymore and when I do, it's definitely not in the
copious amounts I used to eat.

With MSG, I just try to avoid eating it all together.  My favorite
Chinese place here doesn't use it-everything's made fresh (I
particularly love their shrimp egg foo yung), so I like to eat there.
I don't eat too much fast food as I used to, so that helps.  Now that
my schedule is not all overnight shifts, I'm starting to exercise more
and *gasp* I'm getting more energy to do things!

I also bought a 1989 Honda CRX Si (think: little fast two-seater that
you have to crawl into :) that I can tinker on, which working on a car
is something I really enjoy, so there's another form of exercise.

      Title: Spinach and Mushroom Omelette
 Categories: Eggs, Breakfast, Low-fat, Mushrooms, Bacon
      Yield: 1 Servings
 
    3/4 c  Fat free egg subsitute
    1/8 ts Pepper
      3 tb Nonfat cheddar cheese
    1/4 c  Packed chopped fresh spinach
      2 tb Sliced fresh mushrooms
      1    Slice turkey bacon
           Ground paprika
 
  Coat an 8 inch nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray, and
  preheat over medium low heat.  Place the egg substiute in the
  skillet, and sprinkle with the pepper.  Let the eggs cook without
  stirring for about 2 minutes or until set around the edges.  Use a
  spatula to lift the edges of the omelette, and allow the uncooked egg
  to flow below the cooked portion.
   Cook for another minute or two, until eggs are almost set.  Arrange
  first the cheese, then the spinach, the mushrooms, and if desired
  cooked and crumbled turkey bacon over half of the omelette.  Fold the
  other half over the filling, and cook for another minute or two, or
  until the cheese is melted and eggs are completely set.  Slide the
  omelette onto a plate, sprinkle with paprika and serve immediately.
  
  Per serving: 125 calories, 4 mg cholesterol, 0.1 g fat, 0.5 g fiber,
       25 g  protein, 431 mg sodium
