Hi Ruth!

>> Just an animal lover... which I thought was very neat. Being so close

> Good; the PETA folks are probably animal lovers in name but not action.

I've never known any PETA folks so I can really say anything there..

> Just like Rachel used to collect cow items--loved the abstract but

Was she afraid of cows? :)

Haven't been in a long long time.. but now you can shop "online" at the some of
the NYC fabric stores.. I've been to their sites.. lemme see if I can find some
links..

Interesting to look sometimes :)

Ah Fiddler is such a great musical.. not a fair comparison :) :)

Yep - Very flashy, Incredible trumpeter..

Yes, guess so.. I see more people in Liberty than were there before (smile)..
And Monticello.. there was a restaurant in Monticello we used to go to in
Monticello where we'd stop for date nute bread.. The Charloo Restaurant.. I
believe it's still open in Monticello (g).. this is my attempt to make that
date nute bread that we loved so much :)

===DateNut Bread with Cream Cheese==
Inspired by Charloo Restaurant

1 1/2 cups pitted dates, chopped
   1 cup boiling water
   1/2 cup dark brown sugar
   1 egg, beaten
   3 tablespoons shortening, melted
   1 teaspoon vanilla extract
   2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
   2 Tablespoons Cocoa
   1 teaspoon salt
   1/2 teaspoon baking soda
   1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
   1/2 cup coarsely-chopped walnuts
   cream cheese
Place dates in a mixing bowl and add boiling water. Let stand until fairly
cool. Add brown sugar, egg, shortening and vanilla. Stir flour, cocoa, salt,
baking soda and baking powder into mixture. Add nuts. Stir until well mixed.
Bake in a greased and floured loaf pan in a preheated 350F degree oven for 1
hour. Remove to a cooling rack. To serve, slice warm bread about 2 inches
thick, and spread cream cheese on nutbread.

That's about what everyone did I think that morning and most of that day. I'm

Your family being in the Military would have been looking at it from a
different perspective too... in a sense... if you know what I mean.

> Looks good--nice and cool. Is your daughter familiar with "The Deaf

Not sure, but I'll ask her. If it uses dairy, or soy, probably not :) there
are SO many things she has to watch.. but I'll check :)

Take care,
Janis
