Hmm.. maybe it was the "kind" of whole wheat flour I used for that one..
instead of buying regular whole wheat, that week I'd bought King Arthur's whole
wheat that is "lighter" in color and grain than regular whole wheat.. It's not
bleached, but I think the wheat they use is not the same as they use for
"regular" whole wheat.  I just wanted to see what the difference was.. I guess
that's it if when you make whole wheat pizza you don't have that problem
:)

That's the same one I had before getting the KA.. and you're right, it doesn't
make as nice a dough.  Not enough uumph or maybe it's the planetary action of
the KA that makes the big difference.  This is my second Kitchen Aid.. the
first one lasted me from about 1985 until about 2005.. that's a pretty long
time :)  These days though KA isn't making them as tough as they used to
though, so you might want to really check out a Bosch or the Viking as you
mentioned.  This KA, I bought in Feb. 2005, and right after I got it, one of
the pieces of it broke off where you'd insert other attachments. It doesn't
affect the functionality of the machine or keep you from using the attachments,
but it burned me up that the piece broke off so soon after I'd gotten it.. and
since I really needed the machine right then, I didn't want to ship it back for
replacement. The Bosch looks really powerful.. the reason I didn't replace my
KA with that one, is that I'd already bought so so many attachments for the
KA.. to get the same type for the Bosch would have cost a fortune.

Ah nice :)  See you are like me too much sometimes I think :)  My mom would
have slugged my dad if he bought her kitchen toys for her birthday or mother's
day.. I love getting them :)

Yeah, it cost a bit.. I got it online for about $200.00 I think, at
pleasanthillgrain.com.  I think I found that place when I was ordering groats
and grains that I could then grind.. they have an incredibly great amount of
toys on that site :)

I do as well 'specially now <g>, I was in a rush that day... of course...
things like that  always happen at the worst time :)
