I'm looking forward to this and hope we get a few more
attendees to round out the rental!

Activities are kind of secondary. It's always fun to see new
things, but hanging around with friends is the #1 priority,
always.

I hope this is not a deal-breaker for anyone. If it is,
I'm willing to kick in a little more to make it possible.

I want to verify that Linda doesn't mind moderate
drinking on premises. Just checking.

For information's sake, what are the normal temperatures?
I was planning on bringing just summer stuff, but if the
night gets below 60, extras might be necessary.

Just to verify again, what's the knife situation. I've
discovered that one can adapt to cooking in just about
any kind of vessel, but it becomes much harder to deal
if the knives are bad.

It would be nice to have enough people to require the overflow!
If this should happen, I'd be happy to stay in a more rustic
accommodation. Whoever does so will still chip in for the rental,
of course.

Some of us would like to be in touch with the real world
at least once or twice during the week. Perhaps we could
visit the bookstore on the way to or from the Chinese
buffet or shopping. Of course, a few days without Internet
would not kill us.

Don't need exotic. I will probably do a run for Asian sauces
and such beforehand, as I'm planning to be riding with the
Shipps, so no TSA liquids prohibition. Requests are welcome.

Not happy to scale and clean, but somebody's got to,
and I could theoretically help with that.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05

      Title: Lumberjack Cake
 Categories: Cakes, Topping
      Yield: 1 8" pan

      2 ea Apples, peeled and finely
           -chopped
      1 c  Chopped dates or raisins or
           -sultanas
      1 ts Bicarbonate of soda
      1 c  Boiling water
      4 oz Butter or marg.
      1 c  Sugar
      1 ea Egg
      1 ts Vanilla
  1 1/2 c  Flour

MMMMM--------------------------TOPPING-------------------------------
      2 oz Butter
    1/2 c  Brown sugar, firmly packed
      1 tb (To-2) milk
    1/2 c  Shredded coconut

  Combine apples, dates, soda and water. Allow to cool to lukewarm.

  Line and grease 20cm (8") deep cake tin. Heat oven to 180C (350F).

  Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add egg and vanilla and
  beat well.

  Sift flour and beat in alternately with apple mixture.

  Pour mixture into tin and bake for approximately 1 hour or until
  cooked.

  Make topping by combining butter, brown sugar, milk and coconut in
  saucepan. Stir over low heat until melted.

  Spread over hot cake and return to oven for a further 20 mins. or
  until topping is golden brown.
