In his case, I have to bear in mind that the
untrustworthiness is driven by his mental disorder. I'm
sure he'd be shocked by some of the stuff he does, if
he fully comprehended it. Although there is evidence
of his very occasionally deliberately breaking the
rules. I'd forgive it all if he cooked half as well as
my mother or sister - or perhaps if he cooked at all to
speak of.

Recent meal. I gave him a steak (I feel funny about
cooking stuff I want and not giving him a portion),
and he reciprocated by preparing his most recent
specialty, which was 1 lb of frozen broccoli, nuked
in the plastic bag for 7 minutes or until the bag
threatened to pop in the microwave, then tossed
with olive oil. He offered me some. At least he tried.

1 c bread crumbs
1 c milk
1 Tb butter
1/2 c American cheese
1 egg beaten
1/2 ts salt
1/4 ts pepper
Toast

Soak the bread crumbs in the milk until soft.

Melt the butter in the pan. Add the cheese cut in dice.
When the cheese has melted, add the softened crumbs, the
egg, and salt and pepper. Cook 3 min longer and pour
the hot mixture over squares of toast.
This serves four to six persons.
